We have the RV and towing a 12 foot trailer. It has been wonderful, stopping off at national parks and campsites along our journey. However, the challenges of backing up are slowly coming together.
This blog will highlight some of our adventures from San Diego to Minneapolis, Minnesota, and onto Charlotte,
Our first stop, and most important, was playing pickleball at the new Chicken and Pickle in Las Vegas. Met some amazing people and joined the meet up group. We played for a few hours with our new friends then hit the road.
Our next adventure took us through the beautiful state of South Dakota. We saw Mount Rushmore and it was the first time for both of us!
Then, onto Wind Cave national Park. If you have not been to the caves, I highly recommend you take a peek. It was simply beautiful. We moved on a little further east in the state and ended up being bad asses in the Badlands of South Dakota.
The show in Minneapolis was fun and productive. The weather was perfect, although it did rain during the evenings.
Onto the next stage of our journey. Heading south to Charlotte, North Carolina! The roads through West Virginia are not kept up. We bounced all over the place. We have heard some horror stories about loading and unloading in Charlotte. This has got Pat greatly concerned as we are now over 40 feet long. We’ve been in contact with the director of the show and he assures us that it will be a smooth transition. We will fill you in as the day goes.
Wow, we stopped for the night in Mayberry NC. The campground was beautiful with full hook-ups. We took a tour of Mayberry town and learned about Andy Griffith. We loved this part of our journey. So much history here. Ya’all need to see it!
One more thing, for those of you that like to camp, I strongly recommend Harvest Host facilities or Passport America. It is amazing. Farmers, vineyards, and other places open their yards and you get to park there for free. This helps in keeping the cost down as well. We left northern Ohio after staying at a beautiful berry farm. Pat and I picked blackberries while camping on their grounds. It was a beautiful and quiet place.
The beauty of having the RV is that we can continually work on stamps!!
